| Goge Africa started in 1998 as an agitative reaction to stereotypes and wrong perception of Africa/African culture by the rest of the world. Goge Africa, a window into Africa - is a direct connection between traditional African cultural society and its influence on contemporary African society. At some time in the not-too-distant-past, 75percent of programme contents of most African TV stations were Western-oriented, with little features on indigenous African music and culture. Hence, Goge Africa is designed as an avenue through which the world gets to know more about the different peoples and places of Africa and the Diaspora. |
