Nuwa Wamala Nnyanzi

Nuwa Wamala Nnyanzi is a God-taught visual arts practitioner/Consultant of international repute who didn’t attend a formal art school before successfully venturing into visual art practice. He holds an MA. Design (Professional Practice) with distinction from Middlesex University, UK.
In 1992 he founded and runs to date Nnyanzi Art Studio, a studio/gallery of contemporary and antique African art in Kampala, Uganda.

Nnyanzi is a culturalist; an art collector, dealer and promoter, poet, creative writer, strategic plan facilitator, public speaker, psycho-social therapist, as well as a visual social and cultural commentator. Nnyanzi’s art, which is biting social and cultural commentary on issues that affect society and it is widely described as “The art that touches the heart” by both critics and admirers. He is the vice chairperson of National Arts and Cultural Crafts Association of Uganda (NACCAU). Nnyanzi serves on a number of National committees responsible for culture, creative industries, tourism and hospitality.He was state minister of Internal Affairs and later on Arts and Social Welfare of Buganda Kingdom from 1992 to 2002.Facebook: Nuwa Wamala NnyanziTwitter: @nnyanziarts

George Edozie

Born on the 11th of May 1972 in Enugu state Nigeria. He studied Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Benin where he majored in Painting, graduated in 1996 with a BA Hons, Fine and Applied Arts. George has had 6 solo Exhibition and over 120 group Exhibitions within and outside Nigeria.

His solo exhibition titled ‘Shifting the Paradigm’ hosted by the Museum Of Contemporary Art North Miami Florida in 2014, was listed among the 4 best exhibition at the Art Basel Miami 2014 and his last solo exhibition titled “New Nigerian Conjunctures: The art of George Edozie” at the National Museum Lagos Nigeria in 2018, dealt with the massive departure of Nigerian and African youths into Europe for greener pastures.  His sculpture Okpulu (Grandma’s Basket) is a permanent collection at the Museum of contemporary Art North Miami. His works were recently acquired by Indianapolis museum and Studio museum of Harlem New York. He is also the co-author of the book 101 Contemporary Artist, A Celebration of Modern Nigerian Art. The first recent document on Nigerian Contemporary Art published in 2010.

George Edozie’s works are widely collected within and outside the country and he has taken part in Art Workshops within and outside Nigeria. George was part of the exhibitions Africa Now organized by the World Bank for emerging African Artist at the World Bank main complex Washington DC USA in 2008 and African Way of Art, La Galerie Vendome Paris France in 2011, ‘’Back to Black’’ Art Africa, Art Basel Miami 2017 .

George is a member of Guild of Fine Artist (GFA) and Society of Nigerian Artist (SNA).

 

 

Sukuro Etale

Sukuro Etale is a Kenyan artist, writer and trainer. He has taught in different institutions in Kenya and exhibited his work the world over. His works are in museums and different collection around the world. He experiments with different art styles, techniques and materials drawing inspiration from disappearing cultures of African people and socio-political commentary.

 

Oliver Enwonwu

Art historian, publisher, curator and artist, Oliver Enwonwu is the director and founder of Omenka Gallery, as well as president of the Society of Nigerian Artists.

 

He is the founder/editor of Omenka, Africa’s first art, business and luxury-lifestyle magazine. Enwonwu is also chief executive officer of Revilo Company, publishers of Network, the bi-monthly magazine of the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce and Cloud 9, Dana Air’s inflight magazine. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC) and sits on the board of several organisations including the Reproduction Rights Society of Nigeria and the Lagos Biennial.

 

He also serves on the governing board of the National Gallery of Art, Nigeria and was recently appointed member of the Advisory Group on Technology and Creativity in the Nigeria Industrial Policy and Competitiveness Advisory Council, chaired by His Excellency, the Vice President of Nigeria.
