Let the countdown begin, the tenth edition of Goge Africa Foundation, Career and Guidance Seminar has officially launched with the theme: Safeguarding Our Youths.
With the sole aim of giving back to the community, the seminar, which targets more than 3,500 students from secondary schools and youth groups in and around Lagos, will focus on topics including Safer Internet, youth restiveness, cyber bullying, manipulation for thuggery, and hate speech.
As the event was officially launched last week, Commissioner of Police of the Lagos State Police Command, Imohimi Edgal pledged the force’s support for the annual event. For several years the police fully supported the seminar, often speaking to participant on the need to steer clear of crime, drugs and negative peer pressure.
During the meeting, Mr. Edgal stressed the need for youngsters to be guided against negative influence, feeding off one of the topics for discussions for this year’s seminar to be held at the National Arts Theatre.
“We will work together,” Mr. Edgal said emphasizing his support.
With key and influential companies partnering with Goge Africa Foundation this year, there are commitments to not only provide scholarships for students, but huge rewards for teachers, said founders of GAF Isaac and Nneka Moses disclosed.
