Carnival Calabar since its introduction has earned the reputation of “Africa’s biggest street party.” The event which begins on the 26th of December till the 30th December has boosted the cultural prose/mosaic of the Nigerian people while entertaining millions of spectators within and outside the state and boosting industry for all stakeholders.

Attracting notable national and international artists of which are the likes of Lucky Dube, Fat Joe, Young Jeezy, nelly, kirk franklin, two face Idibia, p square, etc. The festival also features interesting activities such as fashion show, beauty pageant, boat regatta, Christmas village, traditional dances and the annual Ekpe festival, an indigenous cultural element of the cross-river people.

A yearly event that brings in revelers to the state, the 2019 Calabar carnival is themed “humanity”, with the carnival used as a medium to convey the depleting condition of humanity, arousing the consciousness of the carnival participants as a social vanguard to advocate for improved humanity.
